We are Todd and John Mark Norton. In the summer of 2017, we thought it would be a fun father/son project to see if we could build pedals for our own rigs. Starting with perf board and online instructions, we spent an afternoon in the garage with a soldering iron. After hours of soldering and troubleshooting, the first pedals came to life. We were hooked!

In 2019 we began forming a business together, meeting players, getting feedback on prototypes, and building a network of friends. Development of the Preamp was an organic process, and so many of our friends gave their time to help shape the design into what it is today.

We build our pedals by hand in small batches with the highest quality parts. We want to grow organically, building friendships in the music community. Great gear is a big part of making music, but building community is the end goal of everything we do.
