A Foundation to Build On

The Foundation Overdrive is the perfect first-stage overdrive. Its transparency lets your guitar shine through, but it gives your tone a middle lift in the sweet spot.

Mode

This control is all about feel. Up is more compressed, with a little more gain and sustain on tap. Down is a more touch-sensitive, open feel that breaks up when you dig in. Unlike a lot of pedals with clipping switches, this one has a compensation circuit that keeps the volume equal between modes.

Bass

A pre-clipping bass EQ switch. Up is the normal mode, giving you more present lows without being muddy. Down cuts the low end just enough to tighten up a high-gain amp or pedal, or to make your FOH engineer thank you for not having to high-pass your signal.

Volume/Drive/Tone

The familiar controls are usable through their full ranges. There’s no single sweet spot. Don’t just set these at noon!
